The Door/Smile Technique

- Give someone a simple, genuine, warm smile
- Open the door for someone
- Extra Points: Open the door and smile at the same time!

Really… have you ever held the door for an elderly person you knew was coming up behind you only to have them start hustling and apologizing profusely?! Tell them to slow down and take it easy. Tell them no rush, that you have all day. Think about how rushed we are all the time that a person could feel bad that someone waited a moment to hold a door. Validators everywhere, we have our work cut out for us!

The Macho Style

“Hey Jones! You’re all right, man. I don’t care what all the other people say about you in the lunchroom when you’re not there to defend yourself. Really.” OK, so this one needs a little work but it’s a good start. Any takers?
